Following a record year of nonwovens production in Greater Europe, it increased by 7.2% to 3075615 tons in 2020 (mainly due to the highest demand for materials used to combat the covid-19 pandemic). The world's leading conference and Nonwovens Industry Expo were held in Geneva from October 19 to 21. According to exhibition organizers Edana and Palexpo, the event attracted 9300 live visitors, 1000 virtual participants and 500 exhibitors.

In the four-day live event program, index attracted 9300 visitors and the virtual version attracted 1000 participants because the event was presented in mixed form for the first time. Photos provided by Edana.

Due to the continuous challenge of the covid-19 pandemic, index is displayed in a mixed form for the first time, enabling exhibitors to use the live broadcast of the virtual booth to display their products and services. The virtual platform also shows the complete index conference plan, which will last until November 15, so that all on-site and virtual participants can watch the content of the six sectoral seminars of the event (sustainability, filtration, geosynthetics, transportation, intelligent nonwovens and infection prevention) and the content provided by participating exhibitors.

“ In four days, more than 9300 visitors participated. The exhibitors were overwhelmed by the unexpected attendance and quality of key decision makers from all over the world. Everyone we met told us that this was undoubtedly a great success. Pierre wiertz, general manager of Edana, said.

Index will return to Geneva from 18 to 21 April 2023.
